Our Founder
Highwood Estate Capital is led by Michael Riskind, who founded the company after spending 14 years in institutional equity sales and trading at UBS Investment Bank, KeyBanc Capital Markets and BB&T Capital Markets. During that time as an equity salesperson at UBS and then as the Head of Equity Sales and Trading at KeyBanc and BB&T, Mr. Riskind built relationships with many of the most successful US hedge fund and long-only portfolio managers and their analyst teams.
With the founding of Highwood Estate Capital, Mr. Riskind is now partnering with select group of emerging asset managers in the hedge fund, private equity, venture capital and real estate sectors. ​Mr. Riskind is also partnering with a select number of early stage private companies to help them raise capital to fund their growth strategies.
Mr. Riskind received a BA in Government and International Relations from Cornell University and a MBA with a concentration in Finance and Marketing from Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University. Mr. Riskind holds Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.
